Carbide Preforms for the Cutting Tool Industry

Initially focused on the cutting tool industry, we supply carbide preforms for rotary cutting tools.

For almost a decade our plant has been offering non-rotating tool blanks.

We also supplies gear cutters that are required for the production of spiral gears. Another product group comprises gear hobbing mill blanks that are used in the production of straight-tooth gears. Principal customers are drive-train manufacturers.

Straight cutting blades and rotary cutters for granulating extruded plastic materials are also part of our offering.

Woodworking Insert Furniture Screw

The woodworking Insert sleeve is used to cover the hole wherever cable exits a wood or vinyl post on a level run, creating a clean look. These sleeves are necessary in some applications where the cable leaves a post at an angle (i.e. turning multiple post corners, etc.).

With the beauty of 316 stainless steel, the woodworking Insert sleeve brings a look of elegance to any cable railing system. The woodworking Insert sleeve can be found in the Wood Level Tension Kit.

Solid Carbide Slitting Saw

Solid carbide slitting saw are recommended for slotting the fragile and hard materials. A tooth form is suitable especially for thin saw blades with tooth pitch from 0,8 mm to 3,0 mm. Cutting edge is very sharp. Chip clearance is reduced and it cannot remove longer chips away from the cutting area efficiently.

Solid carbide slitting saw are in both high speed and super high speed steels suitable for milling, and grooving steels and alloys on manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic machines. The saw blade range is ø 15 mm – ø 315 mm with thicknesses ranging 0,2 mm – 6 mm in variable designs with tooth forms: A – B – BW. All standard saws are available ground only but also with VAPO or P.V.D. (Physical Vapour Deposition) coated execution.

Carbide saw tips for retipping saw blades

We sell carbide saw tips for Retipping. We can get just about any grade and size and love to do custom work. We also specialize in brazing and pretin services on all the carbide we sell.

Below is our Special Super C grade of carbide saw tips. We believe it to be one of the finest grades of carbide because it can be used for so many different applications.

Our Super C Carbide Tips can be used for a variety of applications where C1, C2, or C3 Carbide Grades would be used. The fine Structure combined with the special metallurgic formulation of the Super C binder create a carbide that is extremely wear resistant and corosion resistant, making it great for cutting wood, plastic and non-ferrous metals. Our Super C tips have a Hardness (HRA) of 92.3 and a Transverse Rupture Strength (TRS) of 537,000 psi.

What’s the Grinding Wheel for My Application?

Taking the general-purpose grinding wheel path is fast, easy and seemingly economical. It could also be the best way to become noncompetitive.

Shops have several good reasons to use general-purpose cylindrical and centerless grinding wheels. Wheel replacement is time-consuming and requires a fair amount of skill, making changeover an expensive process.

The wheels themselves are also fairly expensive, so it’s only logical that shop management would want ones that can grind as wide a variety of materials as possible, thus minimizing investment.

And wheels must be properly stored when not in use—depending on the size and type of the grinder and the wheels it uses, this can require a significant amount of space.

That said, many grinding experts have strong arguments for taking an application-specific grinding wheel approach, particularly on higher job quantities or where materials are challenging to grind.

Attempting to muscle through with a general-purpose wheel often leads to a host of problems, among them wheel loading, workpiece burning, poor productivity levels and unstable processes.

Worst of all, it can generate scrap at what is typically the final machining operation, when parts are at the highest value and replacing them will potentially require weeks of rework.

How to Choose a Tungsten Carbide Cutting Wheel

Our cutting wheels are efficient and made from bonded adhesives. Bonded adhesives include a mix of resin and quality abrasive material. This mix is hardened into a solid tungsten carbide cutting wheel to provide a stable, lasting cutting surface. We offer tungsten carbide cutting wheels compatible with die grinders, angle grinders, chop saws, stationary saws and high-speed gas saws. The best wheel option fits the tool and does not exceed its maximum RPM safety rating.

Wheel type is another consideration when selecting a tungsten carbide cutting wheel. Type 1 wheels have a flat profile that allows for deep cuts. These wheels are also often referred to as cut-off wheels or slicing wheels. We offer Type 1 tungsten carbide cutting wheels for die grinders, angle grinders, chop saws, stationary saws and high-speed gas saws. The second type is a Type 27 tungsten carbide cutting wheel, which has a depressed center or raised hub that provides added clearance when working at a constrained angle. These depressed-center tungsten carbide cutting wheels are available in a range of sizes for right angle grinders.

Metals vary in hardness and composition. In addition to tool compatibility and wheel type, the tungsten carbide cutting wheel needs to fit the application and the metal material being cut. Wheel thickness is something else to consider — when cutting metal, less is sometimes more. In selecting a wheel, always choose the thinnest wheels that will perform the cut while maintaining the desired product life. Thinner wheels will remove less material and create fewer burrs during the cut.
